Ella McGaw

Ella McGaw, Monday night’s guest speaker, is a talented young artist who attends Cronulla High School.

Ella’s artwork was one of 43 artworks from across the state to be selected in this year’s ARTEXPRESS, 2022 which showcases the very best artworks produced by students as part of the NSW Higher School Certificate Examination in Visual Arts. The 'best of the best' HSC major artworks produced by Visual Arts students from 2021 form part of the ARTEXPRESS 2022 exhibition.

Being chosen for the exhibition is a tightly competitive feat, with only 43 artworks from across the state being selected from a massive 8440 submissions.

Students addressed the effect of the global COVID-19 pandemic on their lives, exploring ideas of the interior self and resilience, emergence and optimism, the environment and still life interiors. Ella’s work documented her exploration of the loss inflicted by the 2019 – 20 bushfires.
