Esme Nasser, a friend of the late Past President Patrick Lim, has donated, through Rotary Australia World Community Service Ltd. (RAWCS), the sum of $ 15,000 to assist our Club's Philippines project in partnership with the Rotary Club of Bacolod.
This project, called Bacolod Community Aid, Philippines is " To assist schools in and around Bacolod, Philippines to improve the nutrition of their students, to carry out health checks and provide medical care. To fund infrastructure and self sustaining projects that increase community wealth."
The Project, initiated by the Rotary Club of Maroubra and PP Patrick Lim, has worked with partner club in the Philippines, Rotary Club of Bacolod and has secured district grants over several years.
The Bacolod City Schools Project is providing 200 meals daily for starving, poor children living on a rubbish tip in the Philippines. This project has lifted school attendance to virtually 100%.
